Our Theory of Chance
We believe that by enabling youth to create anti-oppression, racism, and gender based violence curriculum we can help create courageous spaces. By doing so, we facilitate community transformation for the sake of preventing and ending violence on the micro and macro scale.
OUR EVENTS

GUN VIOLENCE WALKOUT
After the Parkland Shootings, GOVAA coordinated a school-wide walkout with Interlake High School administration to protest the current state of gun violence. The walkout was a success with over 700 students participating.

EXPRESSION NIGHT
Expression Night is a slam poetry event which serves as a fundraiser and community healing environment. Students speak to their identities, the intricacies of oppression, and form a multidimensional image of themselves to an audience of adults and fellow students.
SUMMER TRAINING
Summer Training is an intensive training where we teach bystanders how to best aid victims of gender based violence. During these days, we cover a variety of topics and highlight the importance of keeping intersectionality in mind.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE LOBBY DAY 2018
Domestic Violence Lobby Day is the annual event where GOVAA travels to the Olympia, Washington to talk to the state senators and representatives, lobbying to get crucial legislation passed which aids victims of domestic and gender based violence.
